CAC Breaks Ground on Renovations for New Community Space in South Kansas City

Community Assistance Center (CAC) is proud to announce that renovations have officially begun on our new space located at 6801 B Longview Rd, Kansas City 64134. This milestone marks a major step forward in expanding resources and services for families and individuals in South Kansas City.

This new community center will serve as a hub for support, connection, and opportunity. The expanded space will allow CAC to increase access to essential programs and create a welcoming environment where community members can find the help they need.

We would like to extend a special thank you to our Missouri House Representatives for their leadership and support in helping secure funding to make this community center possible. Their commitment to strengthening South Kansas City has been instrumental in turning this vision into reality.

Now Accepting Room Sponsors

As renovations move forward, CAC is now seeking sponsors to “adopt a room” in our new facility. Sponsoring a room is a meaningful way for businesses, organizations, and community partners to make a lasting impact while helping us equip the space to fully serve our neighbors.

We are currently in need of essential items for our food pantry, including refrigerators, freezers, shelving, and shopping baskets. We also need equipment for our new community kitchen to support meal preparation, nutrition education, and community programming.

Room sponsorships will directly help us secure these critical resources and ensure that every area of the facility is fully functional and ready to serve families in need. Sponsors will play a key role in helping us achieve our goals and strengthen the support systems available in South Kansas City.

CAC also invites other nonprofit organizations to join us in this new shared space. By working together under one roof, we can provide even more comprehensive services and resources to the community. Collaboration will allow us to better meet the growing needs of families in the area.

Nonprofit organizations interested in partnering or co-locating in the new space are encouraged to contact Ashley Lajiness at [email protected] for more information. Businesses and individuals interested in sponsoring a room or donating equipment are also encouraged to reach out to learn more about sponsorship opportunities.

This is a transformational moment for South Kansas City. The new community center represents hope, partnership, and a stronger future for the residents who have long deserved greater access to support and opportunity.
